Designed by Hawaii's most famous architect Vladimir Ossipoff, the Diamond Head Apartments is my favorite building on the Gold Coast. I spent a lot of time there as a kid when my grandmother lived in one of the penthouse units. There's a reason why these units have sold for more than any other building. In addition to being a co-op, one of the rules is they do not allow 1031 exchanges in or out of the building. Although people do rent these units out, you're also not allowed to rent for the frist year of ownership.
