Neighborhood Information about Alewa Heights - Alewa Heights is nestled between Nuuanu Valley to the east and Kamehameha Heights and Kamehameha School's main/Kapalama campus to the west. Most of the homes were built between the 1940's to 1960's where you can see a mix of plantation style and mid century modern architecture. Most of the lots are zoned R-5 and are about 5,000 sq. ft. on average.
The main thoroughfare is Alewa Drive, which traverses back and forth up the hill. Due to the topography of Alewa Heights, many of the homes have nice ocean views overlooking Downtown Honolulu and Honolulu International Airport. That's also a driving force on why some of the homes we've sold in Alewa Heights were employees that work at Honolulu Harbor and the airport.
