So often when we're selling real estate here in Diamond Head, people ask me "I'd like to buy something short term and legally vacation rental". Here we are at the Diamond Head Beach Hotel and this is literally going to be the only condominium here on the Gold Coast that you can actually do a legal vacation rental.
The catch is these units are leasehold with a land lease that expires in the year 2032. So, buyers do have to pay cash (as banks won't finance with that short a term remaining). However, if you're looking for a building along the Gold Coast here at Diamond Head to rent something out short term (less than 30 days), the Diamond Head Beach Hotel is the one place in town (Diamond Head).

It's right along the coast and you've got a seawall in front. We are in the winter now, so the sunsets are going to be pretty much straight out there. Then, as you get into the summer, they're going to tend to be further out to the west.
Surfing Tongg's and Charlie's Angels
You've got some awesome surfing out front at Tongg's. It's probably one of the most consistent waves here on the south shore of Oahu. For a little bit of history not many people know is when Charlie's Angles (Part 2 - Full Throttle) was filming, Drew Barrymore, Lucy Liu and Cameron Diaz all learned how to surf directly out front here at Tongg's.
If you're looking to either buy or sell a short term vacation rental here on the Gold Coast at Diamond Head, Diamond Head Beach Hotel is going to be the one stop shop for that. However, there's a lot of other products here on the Gold Coast, where you can't rent them as short a term, but they do hold their value because it's hard to replace direct oceanfront here at Diamond Head.
