Bellows Air Force Station sits on prime oceanfront real estate in Waimanalo. It was named after Franklin Bellows, who was a World War I hero. Today, the Marines use Bellows as a training facility. Although there's an airstrip there, aircraft are seldom seen taking off and landing there. The military also allows veterans to stay at their cabins along the beach and the waiting list can be over a year long. Noted dignitaries and even U.S. Presidents have been known to stay at Bellows over the years.

In addition to Waimanalo, the nearest neighborhoods would be Hawaii Kai and Kailua.
