Neighborhood information about Maunalani Heights: Although considered Wilhemina by many on Oahu, Maunalani Heights has its own neighborhood designation in MLS and this is deservedly so. Maunalani Heights varies from the lower part of Wilhelmina in several ways. In Wilhelmina, the lots are smaller, typically zoned R-5 and have overhead utilities. Meanwhile, Maunalani Heights has larger lots zoned R-10 and underground utilities, which end up preserving the highly sought after view plains.
I have a friend that lives on Maunalani Heights and likes to call it “Kahala Heights”. In Kahala, prices start at $1 million for a hot flat lot with no breeze, far from the beach, with no view. He has a good point. In Maunalani Heights for that same amount of money, you can get something with an incredible view, more land and it’s cooler due to the higher elevation. I’ve sold a handful of homes up there over the years and they offer a great value.
Maunalani Heights has a nice community park near the top and there’s also a really cool hike along the ridge which can be accessed off Maunalani Circle at the top of the ridge.
