Neighborhood information on Puupanini: Puupanini is an exclusive section of homes sandwiched between Diamond Head, Kahala and Kaimuki. Most of the people that live on Oahu don’t even know it exists as the access roads are few and most people drive right by. The homes on the mauka (mountain) side are more like those of Kaimuki in that they are roughly 5,000 square foot lots. As you get closer to the ocean, there are some large estates that offer a mini park and paddle tennis court.
There are some cool mid century modern homes in Puupanini, some of which were designed by Vladimir Ossipoff. Since Puupanini is smaller and exclusive like Black Point, there is typically lower inventory. Homes with smaller lots on the mauka (mountain) end can be found closer to $1 million and those on the larger plots can go as high as $5 million or more.
